About the Author
David Cavill David Cavill is an experienced writer and broadcaster on all subjects related to companion animals. An acknowledged expert, he owns and publishes Dogs Monthly and is the founder of the Animal Care College, which provides courses in all aspects of animal care. Currently a consultant to the animal care industry, he has an extensive background in kennel management, having owned and run a small boarding kennel and cattery and managed a large establishment that included a grooming salon. Until recently he was joint Manager of Bell Mead, the country kennel of Battersea Dogs' Home.

(American) Buyer Beware

This book is of limited value to American kennel owners. Imagine my surprise when I opened this guide and was referred to Her Majesty's Customs and Excise Tax for VAT. Six of 11 Chapters are specific to the U.K., and the references in the two appendices will do little good unless your target audience is British expats.

I urge Mr. Cavill to consider drafting a U.S. edition, and Amazon should make clear that this is a U.K. publication.

Replace references to 'HM' with 'Federal...'

If the info in the book is not relevant to the US, at least the book has drawn awareness to this aspect, and the correct data can be quickly found on the internet. Thus the book is almost as valuable to an American as it is to a Brit.

If the rest of the world buy hundreds of thousands of books written for an American market, surely America can do the equivalent?

Sopranos

I own all six seasons box sets. And keep them rotating in my DVD player to fall asleep to every night. I know the whole screenplay by heart. This book rehashed a lot of the commentary of the episodes, but was still very good. Still the best series ever made.

A little shallow interview with some of the actors and writers. If you're after a more interesting and useful analisis, I'd recomend "The revolution was televised", by Allan Sepinwall, in wich other series of this period and of great importance were looked at.

Hear and see "Behind the Scenes"

Being a big fan of the Series, I had previously read the Official Sopranos book cover to cover,and was recently lucky enough to be in New York, and able to enjoy the Soprano's tour. This book gave us an insight from the actors themselves, and backed up what I had learnt in both the formal guide to the series, and saw on the tour.
A Must have for the Soprano's hfan, and an easy read.

Made for Freedom - excellent!

I bought this on the basis of its title 'Made for Freedom', a subject I'm interested in. And I have to say, it is superb. Very insightful and covers a multitude of topics on the human condition. This is a book with depth and it leaves me feeling satiated, but wanting to re-read it because it offers so much material for thought.
It explains the human condition in such a way as to want you to grasp freedom and reject the materialism of this world, but it also offers explanations as to why this is difficult for many people to do. At one and the same time it encourages you to be yourself, explores the barriers to this, and offers ways to overcome them. I highly recommend it for those who like to think, are interested in the human condition, and in developing their own potential to its fullest.

This book deserves to be more widely known and read. It is about freedom as an attitude to life and a spiritual attitude. The author guides us through what freedom means in all its facets. I especially recommend this to people who have high ideals in life, who care about what it means to be human, and want to know how this integrates itself into the life of faith. The book is also remarkable because it takes account of the "narrative" or "subjective" turn in ideas in society without diverging from complete orthodoxy. Really we need books like this that can present traditional faith in a contemporary way. It answers a lot of the questions that young people will have today in language which is contemporary while being founded in a faith that is unchanging and true.
