These "2,100-toners" became the most successful of all American destroyers, fast, roomy, capable of absorbing enormous punishment, and a flush deck design. This book covers the 58 units of the total of 175 built in the class, known as the "Round Bridge" design. Warship Pictorial 42

Loved the large detailed pics of this book. I noticed 8 of these round bridge Fletchers were members of the famous Desron 23, the Little Beavers. The squadron fought in the Pacific during WW2. Also of note are the various camouflage patterns. The only color pics are the front and back of this book. All the b & w photos are very clear.

Great information on this sub-class of one of the best U.S. naval destroyer class built. The 'round bridge' fletcher's made-up a third of the class and the author has provided info on which ones had a1.1" a.a. weapon, twin 40mm. Updated a.a. fits/fire control up to the quad 40mm's. Also shows several good quality photos of the aircraft crane used on OS2U-3 conversion.
